Preferred Design Drawing File Types

Preferred Design Drawing File Types We accept .dxf files and other formats. We perforate and fabricate to your drawing design concept or our own.

Thickness of Metals

We can perforate material from 22 gage up to 1/4" thick. We can create products in all shapes and sizes.
Tab 2
  1. Quantity - State the number of Perforated Screen Plate of the same thickness, width, length, perforation and bars.
  2. Thickness - Specify in inches or gage number.
    • Steel - Use the U.S. Std. Ga. Table.
    • Stainless Steel - Use the U.S. Std. Ga. Table.
    • Monel - Use the U.S. Std. Ga. Table.
    • Brass, Copper, Muntz Metal & Aluminum -Use B&S Ga. Table.
  3. Metal Type - State the kind of metal required. Steel plate: a minimum of .20 C and a minimum of .40 Mn shall be used. Abrasion resisting (AR) steel plate; a min. of .35 C and a min. of 1.20 Mn.
  4. Width - The "width" is the dimension at right angles to the flow of the material. Specify the overall width. If hook flanges are required, specify: "width (measured outside the hook flanges)." Tolerance of the width: plus 0" minus 1/4".
  5. Length - The "length" is the dimension of the Perforated Screen Plate that is parallel to the flow of material being screened. Specify the overall length. Tolerance of the screen length: plus 0" minus 1/4".
  6. Perforation Size & Shape - Click here for perforations that are available.
  7. Arrangements of Perforations - Staggered arrangement (600 pattern) is the standard. Perforations are normally staggered in the direction of the flow of the material being screened.
  8. Bars - The "bar" is the metal between perforations and is measured at the point where perforations are closest. Specify the width of the bar.
  9. Method of Attaching Perforated Screen Plate to Vibrating Screens:
    • Hook Flanges - For standard "tension-type" vibrating screens, specify "Hook Flanges"(Click Here).
    • Bolted to Frame of Vibrating Screen - If the
    • Perforated Screen Plate is to be bolted, submit sketch showing location, size and type of the bolt holes.
    • Also specify the width of blank margins on the sides and the ends of the Perforated Screen Plate.
  10. Crowned Screens - If a screen plate is to be "crowned", state the amount of the crown measured at the centerline. Unless otherwise specified, the standard crown for screens 1/16" thick and heavier will be furnished as follows: For 3' or 4' wide vibrating screens -1/2" crown. For 5' wide vibrating screens -3/4" crown. For 6' wide vibrating screens and wider -1" crown.
  11. Other Information:
    • For slotted perforations - specify whether the long dimension of the slot is parallel with the width or length of the Perforated Screen Plate.
    • If the screen is to be "corrugated" to distribute or retard the flow of material, so specify.
    • For screens requiring "skid bars" to scalp off oversize material, specify bar size and location. Include make, model and size of vibrator.
  12. Clamp Bars (Skirt Boards) - Can be supplied as a standard item or custom to your requirements with or without round or square holes.
Tab 3
  1. Quantity - State the number of screen sections required (see illustration above).
  2. Thickness - Specify in inches or gage number.
    • Steel - U.S. Std. Ga. Table Revised 11/42.
    • Monel - U.S. Std. Ga. Table
    • Stainless Steel - U.S. Std. Ga. Table
    • Brass, Muntz, Aluminum - B&S Ga. Table
  3. Metal Type - State the kind of metal required. Steel plate: a minimum of .20 C and a minimum of .40 Mn shall be used. Abrasion resisting (AR) steel plate: a min. of .35 C and a min. of 1.20 Mn.
  4. Diameter - Specify the exact outside diameter or the exact inside diameter of the Perforated Screen Section in inches.
  5. Length - Specify the length of the screen section (see illustration above). Tolerance of the length of the screen: plus 0" minus 1/4".
  6. Perforated Size & Shape - See Page 4 for perforations that are available.
  7. Arrangements of Perforations - Staggered arrangement (600 pattern) is standard for Perforated Screen Plate when used on revolving screens.
  8. Bars - The "bar" is the metal between perforations and is measured at the point where perforations are closest. Specify the width of the bar.
  9. Segments - Specify the number of segments to each section. (See illustrations above).
  10. Method of Assembling Perforated Screen Plate Segments to Make Sections and/or Cylinders
    • Butt Joints - Not Fastened.
    • Butt Joints - Standard Clips.
    • Butt Joints - Standard Straps.
    • Lap Joints -The std. lap joint is 11/2" to 2" (minimum lap 11/2").
  11. Other Information - If bolt holes for mounting to frame or specific margins are required, submit a sketch.
    • If slotted perforations are required and the arrangement of slots is important, indicate whether the long dimension of the slots is parallel to the length of the screen section or is parallel to the circumference of the screen section.
  • Perforated Metal Screens - The Remaly Patented "W" Dent Feature

  • Industrial Perforators Trade Practices

Tab 1
The natural tendency is for material passing over a plain plate to flow toward the center, but with this "W" dented feature by reason of the design of the spreading and collective riffles, the material is more evenly distributed over the entire surface of the screen thereby giving a much greater percentage of screening efficiency, reducing the excessive wear while at the same time a more rigid plate is obtained with the sag very greatly reduced.
When the material flows in a heavy body over these screens the riffles produce a turning and rolling effect which brings the top and middle of the flow in contact with the screening surface before being discharged.
We would respectfully request that in making inquiries or placing orders for perforated plates or sheets that complete information be given with every order, and if possible furnish a rough sketch or drawing showing location of bolt holes on sides and ends as well as blank margins if any.
Tab 2
The Industrial Perforators Association, Inc. made a study of the trade customs or usages and the terms and conditions of sale which are believed to generally prevail throughout the perforating industry. The typical contract provisions which apply in these sales transactions unless the buyer and seller specify otherwise as set forth below. Each perforating company may establish its own terms and conditions.

Description of Goods Sold - Perforated material furnished shall be described only by Remaly Manufacturing Company quoted specifications and/or drawings and any required change or deviation therefrom may be subject to quoted prices revision. Unless otherwise specified, the industry standard specifications shall prevail as described from time to time in bulletins published by the Industrial Perforators Association, Inc.
  2. Quantity Prices - Price differentials indicated for varying quantities of the same item result from savings in the cost of material, purchasing, manufacture, sale or delivery.
  3. Packing - Packing will be furnished in accordance with the perforating industry standard specifications.
  4. Sales, Use and Other Taxes - The Buyer shall pay or reimburse Remaly for any sales, use, excise, occupational, or other tax arising directly or indirectly from this sale transaction or the performance thereof, or from the use by any person of the perforated material sold.
